Overview
About Me
I'm from America, but I'm studying at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. I'm especially into reptiles and invertebrates, which are tragically the least lucrative area of veterinary medicine. :D
I am polite and quiet and VERY clean.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Vet students have to travel all over on clinical placements, which is very difficult for me as an international student: I don't have random family and friends' couches to crash on! Couchsurfing helps me to bridge the gaps between the cheapest train times and the cheapest hostel/hotel reservations, allowing me to get my clinical experience on a budget.
It's also a great way for me to get to know the area I'm staying in: it's tragic to say "Oh yes, I've been to Sheffield!"
"Really, what did you see!"
"Um...my hotel and the vet clinic."
Interests
I really enjoy hiking (when I have a buddy), rock climbing, cycling, karate, listening to other people play the guitar and reading in the sun.
I'm interested in snakes, hermit crabs, insects, dogs and the stupid stuff they do, comics, tabletop RPGS, really good food, really tasty food that's bad for you, old-timey science and medicine, new-timey science and medicine, and whatever Harrison Ford is doing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have literally been listening to the Garden State Soundtrack on repeat for about a week now. I've also got a fierce love for mellow Indie Rock, folk music with crazy fiddle parts, and 80's style metal that's excited, not angry.
Movies I Will Always Want to Watch: Italian Job, Star Wars, Die Hard, Indiana Jones (1 and 3), Hot Fuzz, Monster's Inc, The Incredibles, Emperor's New Groove, Shawshank Redemption, Men In Black, Jurassic Park.
Books I Love: Jurassic Park (Actually shockingly good!), Sherlock Holmes stories, Deep Secret, Harry Potter (for life), American Gods, Name of the Wind, The Road, Pride and Prejudice (I know, I know, I'm sorry but it's so fun!),
Books I'm Reading: An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth, The Book of Deadly Animals
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went ziplining in the rainforest while I was in Costa Rica, even though I have a paralyzing fear of heights! Somehow it wasn't as bad when I was going through the trees.
...but at one point we had to lower ourselves 50 feet over a 180 foot drop to reach the abseil point and I got too scared and had to be rescued and it was hella awkward. But the first part was GREAT :P
What I Can Share with Hosts
Puns. And if you let me know what you like I can ply you with fine wines or beef jerky.
