hi there! i'm a young american woman, who loves to travel. i just graduated from an alternative college where i majored in social linguistics, middle east studies, and art. last year i was fortunate to travel to egypt and turkey for several months, which really opened my eyes to the world.
now my partner, Fergus Farley (you can search couchsurfing for his profile), and i are going to travel in asia together, working along the way. we have working to be able to do this for a long time, and we feel lucky it is finally happening!
more about me: i am from oakland california, which is one of the most diverse cities in america! because of this i grew up with people from all over the world, and i love experience these things.
i am very mellow, kind, and introspective. i love to have a good conversation but i also like to be by myself. my sense of humor is subtle and sometimes people can't tell when i'm joking ;;-)
i love plants and nature, i appreciate visual beauty, i love looking at small things like spider webs and moss. some nights i like to be cozy and read, some nights i like to dance until the morning! but i am not a party person, only when the time is right. most nights i am in between, enjoying a nice dinner with good people.

i am on couchsurfing because the best times i've had while traveling was when i had the opportunities to get a deeper perspective on the place that i was.
it's easy to just go to a new place. but i love to spend time in a place, get to know the social and cultural environment, hang out with people, eat food, and just walk around.
i am very thankful that couchsurfing offers this opportunity! i know many people are very dedicated on here, and there are a lot of spoken and unspoken boundaries. although i do not have any couchsurfing reviews, i know a lot about the community here and will do my best to respect it :)

i am a calm and respectful guest. i am considerate of house rules, spoken or otherwise, and do my best to contribute whatever i can to the host. i love to cook and i always clean up after myself. if you are working on any house projects i would love to help. i enjoy photography and film and can give lessons on the basics of these. i love plants, flower arrangement, and making small decorative terrariums. i also have a great natural taste for interior design and arrangement and would be happy to give advice or even help you rearrange you room!
i also share an open and unbiased ear. i know that when traveling, especially as a guest or tourist, i must be aware of cultural and social differences big and small. i think people from different countries get along better when we acknowledge our differences and still have a good time!
