Hey there! My name is Kate, 24 and from Brisbane, Australia. I am finally back in the UK after being home for 2 years. I used to live here for a few years but I unfortunately wasn't able to do much travelling. I'm back to see what I missed out on the first time round.

I love speciality coffee, minimalism, travelling (of course), live music and finding community within the music scene. I've just started bouldering and I'm obsessed.

When I head home I plan to move to Melbourne. I hope to immerse myself in the coffee industry to become a better barista. I've found so much joy in making coffee, being able to improve someone's day with a simple drink is very fulfilling.

I don't smoke or drink. I try to always have a positive mental attitude, that is super important to me

I am super easy going and just happy to be along for the ride. I'm not at all fussy, if I've got some floor space or a sofa, I count myself as looked after. I am very independent so no need to worry about looking after me, however I am always up for a chat and to hang out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to meet and live with locals to have authentic experiences of areas I might not have had. I've also found my travels so far to feel very disconnected from people and quite lonely. To be able to make connections along the way is just so much more enjoyable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

More recently I went to Melbourne for two weeks. This was my first solo trip and it gave me a lot of courage to come back to the UK. I found community in the local music scene and made life long mates.

Also taking a Greyhound bus all the way up the North Coast Of Australia was pretty special.
