About Me

Married, two (mostly grown) kids, one greyhound (Nina Totenberg), one tortoise (Mr. T.), and one mortgage. My husband is a software engineer. I'm co-executive director of a nonprofit printmaking cooperative and a working artist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2015 my teenage son and I traveled across the U.S. to look at colleges, visit art studios and meet artists, and see the country through the lens of some really amazing couchsurfing hosts. We ultimately ended with: 30 days and 8000 miles traveled, 12 colleges and 15 print studios toured, too many amazing artists and gracious hosts to count, and an experience that would not have been the same without the really cool people we met along the way.

Now, I am heading out to Wyoming for a 3 week artist residency and getting there is very much a part of the experience. I'll be bringing along a small portfolio and hope to leave a piece of art with each host along the way!

Interests

Things I like: art, live music, watching really (really) stupid tv while I'm working in my studio, hiking, travel, pajamas, staying in, cacti, reading the New Yorker, good food, my Vitamix, lists.

Things I do not like: staying up late partying, litter, social media

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think I've done anything amazing, but I do sort of look at my life every once in awhile and marvel that I seem to be a grown up.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about printmaking and I'm bringing a portfolio of work (there are a few snapshots of some of my work in my profile) to leave a piece of art at every stop.
