Hello! Cheers for taking the time to learn more about me. I'm Katie :) I grew up in a small town in Australia with my incredible close knit family. I am the youngest - and the only kid around home these days but we catch up regularly as we all genuinely enjoy each other's company. I love getting outside and I love everything that it includes (camping, hiking, bike riding, sailing, running..)!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm working at a summer camp in the USA at the moment and ABSOLUTELY loving it!
I have travelled quite a lot for the small amount of time I've had off and have found that accomodation can make your experience good, great or fantastic!
While I do enjoy my own quiet time, I have found hostels are always the better way to go! You meet interesting new people and find out things you would never have known about!

What I am intrigued about couch surfing is the locals I will be meeting! What better way to explore a town then to stay in someone's home! I love the idea and am excited to try it out as soon as Camp ends!

Books! Glorious books! I love a good Nora Roberts thriller, but just finished Da Vinci Code and couldn't put it down!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am passionate about the environment and the amazing, special moments nature can give us. I read, watched, researched and learnt that by living a vegan lifestyle, I will benefit not only the environment, but animal welfare and my own body. I hope and like to believe I am making a positive impact on the environment!
Coming from a big family of meat and dairy lovers, it was a sudden shock to my system and everyone around me had bets how long I'd last! One and half years later (and still going), I'm really proud of myself with this one!

Teach, Learn, Share

This summer one of my campers has taught me how to play the ukulele! I love it so much, I hope I meet people who also play and can help me learn some more!
In return, I can make a pretty great friendship bracelet (also learnt at summer camp!). It's a fun trick up my sleeve I'd be glad to share!

Also I can share that I can quote every line from any how I met you're mother episode from seasons 1-6. Who even watched seasons 7-9 more than once?
