About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To traverse the globe with rambunctious élan
ABOUT ME
I'm Kate. He's Ed. Together we are Ed and Kate. Or Kate and Ed. Whichever way round really.
We've been together round-and-about four years, and to break up the monotany we thought we might do abit of travelling. Hence, here we are.
I (Kate) am currently at Warwick University. Although I've managed a few jaunts out of Blighty, I feel that generally my horizons could do with a good ol' fashioned broadening. Im the curious-but-lazy type, hoping to keep the curious and lose the lazy somewhat.
I (Ed) have a love of all things facsinating. I'm perhaps a little better travelled then Kate thanks to an adventurous mother. There is so much of the world that I am yet to see though, and billions of people still to meet. I'm a fairly hands-on sort of chap which goes some way to compensating for Kate's incurable laziness!
And that's us in a very small nutshell.
(Well, it isn't- that would be a considerably more painful experience)
PHILOSOPHY
Kate:
'The Lesson of the Moth' [Extract]:
we get bored with the routine
and crave beauty
and excitement
fire is beautiful
and we know that if we get
too close it will kill us
but what does that matter
it is better to be happy
for a moment
and be burned up with beauty
than to live a long time
and be bored all the while
~ Don Marquis, in "archy and mehitabel," 1927
Ed:
'A new breed of insurgent has begun to appear on the streets [...] The Anarcho-Dandyist. Recognisable by his immaculate clothes, the rakish angle of his hat, and the subtle rallying cry of "Good day to you sir/madam!" [...] Every little gesture that flies in the face of neo-vulgarity can help the Tweed Revoultion.'
~ The Chap Manifesto
