About Me

ABOUT ME

When people hear about my life story, I am often told that they feel like they are having a Forrest Gump moment and they are the lady eating his chocolates. Haha, I suppose I will have to meet you to tell you it.

I'm a 29 year-old Aussie girl. Was a Senior Media Advisor for Government but threw it all in earlier this year to follow my gypsy heart so I can travel and follow my true passions.

I am one of the luckiest people I know, because I am fortunate to have the best family and friends in the world. They really are. I come from a family of six (which has grown to 10) and they are all very unique individuals. My mother is an artist, hairdresser, celebrant and healer. My father is a teacher who teaches teachers mathematics. They are like chalk + cheese, right side and left side of the brain. But somehow this combination has worked to create a very tight-knit family. My family home is like a treehouse and the joke is if you stand still long enough you will get painted (even the toilet is painted). All of us paint, so the house kind of looks like a gallery. I come from a little coastal town surrounded by national parks, lakes and the beach about 1.5 hours north of Sydney. I also lived in Sydney in an apartment next to the Harbour Bridge that more closely resembled a broom cupboard (I loved it!).

At the moment, I am travelling the world and couldn't be happier.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love couch surfing that much that I am now a face of couchsurfing!
Ended up in a photoshoot in San Francisco for couchsurfing.org and met some awesome people there. The best travelling experiences I have had has come from staying with people in their own country and home and you can't get that in hotel room. I have been fortunate enough to have met people in my own travels or through friends of friends, so that I actually haven't used the website, but I am looking to change that starting now :)

Interests

I'm a Creative Dabbler - Design, Illustration, Art and Photography are all passions of mine. Love exploring new cultures + places + faces. I love dancing and I am renowned for my random dance moves which includes the canoe and the inchworm (they normally come out about 1am, if you're lucky!). I am interested in American Indian culture, extreme sports, neuroscience, art, surfing, discourse theory, hiking, spirituality, learning about football, rugby league, animals...I am naturally inquisitive and pretty much love learning about anything and shooting the breeze.

I like to both party and also chill-out, depending on the setting and what mood I am in.
