I've just moved back to Calgary after spending some time living in Ireland. Missing all the fabulous people I met while travelling around Europe and Africa, I'd love to host people in Calgary when I can.

I love trying new food, and scouting out new photography spots. I enjoy staying active, and try to get in hiking, rock climbing, and regular gym sessions into my weekly schedule.

I have a passion for learning about new cultures and discovering different ways of life. I took French immersion in school, and started my attempt to master Italian in university. Ideally I would love to learn Arabic, German, and Spanish.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I first heard about couchsurfing from my brother, and he had great experiences. When living in Dublin, I decided to try surfing and hosting. I've met some pretty amazing friends from this site, and I think it's a great opportunity to create lasting friendships. I even made travel plans with prior hosts/surfers, which was pretty cool.

I also really enjoy using couchsurfing to meet up with fellow travellers when I'm in a new place, even if I'm staying in hostels. When travelling alone, it really helps you enjoy and experience a new city.

Intereses

You will almost always find me with a camera pressed to my eye, trying to capture the beauty of the world around me. I love landscapes, but am working to get into portrait and street photography. I enjoy the personal challenge that comes from rock climbing, and the exhilaration that comes from snowboarding through fresh powder on a ski hill.

I'm always up for debating and discussing local and international politics, moral and ethical issues, or any social injustice topic you can think of.

I try to be open to new cultures, and attempt to learn about their traditions, foods, and languages.

Música, películas y libros

I love almost every genre of music. I enjoy mystery/thriller novels, as well as biographies, and books on international relations/history. I don't watch many movies, but my particular favourite is 'View from the Top' - a corny flight attendant movie that not many people have heard of.
