About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Embrace the wanderlust

ABOUT ME

I am daily learning and rediscovering what it means to love myself. I like early mornings with tea and poetry, afternoons in the cafe or the studio, and evenings with good drinks and better friends. I am a story keeper, an artist, an explorer. I love building forts, cooking good food, and watching the rain.

PHILOSOPHY

Existence is a tapestry of experience, formed by the entwining threads of environment and relationship. We do not exist only in this moment, but within the fabric of history. Everyone you meet will change you. I love that.

"We die to each other daily. What we know of other people is only our memory of the moments during which we knew them. And they have changed since then. To pretend that they and we are the same is a useful and convenient social convention which must sometimes be broken. We must also remember that at every meeting we are meeting a stranger."
€T.S. Eliot

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently studying in Regensburg, Germany with a group of American students. Because of that, I am still kind of a traveler myself. We're living in a hostel so I can't offer you a place to stay, but I'm excited to get my own place after graduation that could be open for guests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This past summer was my first experience couchsurfing and I really loved it. I met some amazing people and I hope to continue to be a part of this community.

"Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you- it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you… Hopefully, you leave something good behind."
— Anthony Bourdain

Interests

I absolutely love to learn new things. I fully intend to continue taking classes my entire life. Currently I am studying Art and Psychology at University, but I'm always getting in trouble for packing my schedule with extra classes. Chances are, if you are passionate about something, I will be excited to listen and learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my least favorite questions on the "get to know you" forms. How can I limit what I like to a simple list? I love to read, though I haven't had as much time lately as I'd like. I almost always have music on and I'm constantly looking for new artists.

Here is an extremely short list of childhood favorites and current obsessions.

Music:

-Iron and Wine
-Bastille
-Fratellis
-Civil Wars
-Damien Rice
-Bobby
-Francois Hardy
-Tegan & Sara
-Kimbra

Authors:

-Margaret Atwood
-Pablo Neruda
-Rainer Maria Rilke
-Haruki Murakami
-J.R.R. Tolkien
-John Green

Movies:

-Harold and Maude
-Dogtooth
-Lars and the Real Girl
-Everything is Illuminated
-Doctor Who
-Lip Service
-Delicatessen
-Primer

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My best moments have been when I was traveling. My family spent time in South America when I was younger. This past summer I had my first chance to travel by myself.
My favorite memory was getting to see the Eiffel tower at midnight on my 21st birthday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook with people. I'm always trying to find new things to create. My favorite dish was probably a handmade pasta ravioli filled with shrimp and ricotta cheese.

I feel like I am still so new to the world that I have much more to learn than I have to teach. I might call myself a Jack of all trades, master of none. Being interested in everything has some draw backs.

I'd love to talk and find out what we have in common and what I can share with you.
