ABOUT ME

I'm a person who is curious about the world and is trying to work out my place in it. I spend my time trying to learn informally about all manner of things from ecology, carpentry and wilderness living to poetry and book-making. I travel and work and try to follow my heart, difficult though that may be. I've no idea where it will take me next.
I am friendly, and pride myself on being kind but strong.
At the moment I am spending the winter in Quebec with my partner, where we have a beautiful house in the pine trees a five minute walk from a waterfall. It's pretty nice. Do come visit.
We are heading to Scotland, where I grew up, in February, to see the family, catch up with old friends, discover new parts of it I don't know yet.

I'm also not nearly as fun as this photo makes me look.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted in London and Montreal when I lived there, and had some lovely experiences couchsurfing in BC with folks who opened my eyes to all sorts of things.

兴趣

I like lots and lots of things, too many really, I find it hard to choose. Most consistently I like books, long walks, learning things in and of themselves.
My interests at the moment are largely ecological, horticultural and environmental. I'm sort of being an autodidact on these subjects and getting hefty books out of the library and doing interships on farms, nurseries in the land of the midnight sun and with the National Trust in Cornwall.
