ABOUT ME

here are some basic facts about me:-i consider myself a realist but i have a tendency towards optimism-i dont like cats, i am a dog person-i believe that God is dead-most of us will never achieve greatness but we have an actual chance to make an impact on the people surrounding us-i am the worst singer who ever walked this green planet of ours(this doesnt mean that i dont like to sing)-i think that treating people with respect and kindness is an obligation and not a choice-i appreciate sarcasm as much as the next person but i havent turned into a cynic just yet-i like smart people (but a rocket scientist is not necessarily smart in my book)-i believe that a good sence of humor is a sign of intelligence-i am from greece but this doent make me an expert in the works of Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Heraclitus etc..:)-the tipsier i get the louder my voice decibels become

PHILOSOPHY

I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.  This makes it hard to plan the day.  ~Elwyn Brooks White

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i host people whenever its possible. i participate in cs activities as often as i can and every time a non cs person asks me "arent you afraid you might end up hosting a serial killer?" i reply "arent you afraid the hotel receptionist might pull out a gun and blow off your head while you're trying to check in?"

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

first person i ever hosted was from New Zealand!i made him repeat every single sentence he uttered because i was so unfamiliar with his accent. i have hosted some people and i have surfed some people's couches. CS is a constant reminder that people(usually complete strangers), more often than not, will surprise you in the most unexpected ways!

Interests

i like to read (almost everything except self help/healing/improvement/development books. i never understood why some people find them so appealing and i think they're a waste of time)i like board games and crossword puzzles (yes, i am a geek that way)i like dancing, hiking, camping, spending time with friends and collecting memoriessometimes my cooking attempts end up in "not a complete disaster"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What is amazing?I see amazing things every day!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

here's some things i could possibly "teach":-the greek alphabet-how to play backgammon-how to fix a broken toilet tank-how to prepare a mind-blowing tzatziki-how to dance gipsy tango(finnish style)-how to whistle(really loud) using your fingersand here are some things it took me a while to realise:#1. when you wake up to music chances are you'll start your day in a great mood#2. usually when there is smoke there is, also, fire#3. a smile can take you a reaaaally long way#4. what you want is not necessarily what you need#5. if someone pays you a compliment, learn to take it and say "thank you"#6. when you dance/eat/kiss/sing with your eyes closed you are possibly one step closer to realising what happiness might feel like#7. if you dont like chocolate, you are a FREAK!#8. if you say you've never cheated in an exam, you are a LIAR!Any kind of trivial and/or absolutely useless piece of information/ knowledge you might be willing to share with me will be greatly appreciated!
