Overview
About Me
I'm on an adventure to learn as much as I can.
I feel called to rediscover my relationship to the earth and humanity away from my capitalist job so I'm trying to live lightly while doing work on organic/regenerative farms/homesteads/communities or even reforresting projects.
I am a maker at heart, trained to be a furniture/cabinet maker after a diploma of clothing and textiles. I've taught myself to crochet/knit/spoon carve/pickle/bake. Love a good cup of coffee and a fat joint as much as a shared meal, an open fire or a hard days work.
I've lived in Vietnam and Australia, now I'm curious what life is like on this side of the globe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I always enjoy meeting locals so I can experience the real culture of a place instead of the guide book things.
I'm also looking for opportunities to participate in the gift economy or work in exchange for accommodation and food to see how lightly I can live. I'm keen to learn farming and land management skills as well as animal husbandry and all the preserving skills like cheese making, salting, fermentation etc.
If I have space or time I want to share my abundance with people who feel the same.
Interests
I love food in all it's forms and especially trips to buy food like farmers markets and local deli trips.
I live for secondhand shopping, the hunt is thrilling. Fascinated by great architecture and water ways. Cannot pass up a float down a river on a warm afternoon either.
I've done a little earth building and found it utterly delightful. Also very interested in working with hempcrete if I can find opportunities.
