ABOUT ME

i like puppies.
i've never broken a bone- that includes the time i fell from a 3 story window.
i will ALWAYS choose to sit outside, no matter the weather.
and i just moved back to DC after about 6 years away so... this is interesting.

oh, and i drink too much coffee. (my hands are shaking as i type this....)

PHILOSOPHY

difficult to put into words, but if you want to go hiking, or sit on the balcony with a couple of beers, i'll try. :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

as much as i can. i had the opportunity to host a lot last year when i lived in lisbon, portugal and surf quite a bit as i traveled around europe. i also love organizing/attending cs events whenever possible. kigali seems to be a less active CS scene than previous cities i've lived in.... but i think we can change that if we try!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met so many amazing people through CS, including some of my best friends. I am looking forward to the other incredible CSers I will meet through my travels!

books: poisonwood bible, a brief history of nearly everything,the alchemist, the buddha, the little prince, in defense of food, a bargain for francis, anna karenina, the fountainhead, wicked, the great transformation, to kill a mockingbird, the entire emilia peabody series (yes, i know, but i love it!), pride and prejudice, ... this list could go on a while, so i'll leave it there for now!
music: ray lamontagne, angus and julia stone, oasis, killers, coldplay, miles davis, adele, florence and the machine, cake, + anything i can sing to.

as for the things i especially want to learn- i want to get proficient at Spanish and Portuguese, and, being something of a foodie/cooking nut, i want to learn to cook local dishes from around the world. if you can teach me a new recipe that uses wholesome, local ingredients, i'm ready to learn!
as for teaching- well, i can teach about cooking and about nutrition (though i'm no expert). also english- i'm more than happy to practice english with anyone that wants to.
