Salem, friends! My name is Kate, and I'm an American now living in Almaty with my husband, Askhat. I do research at a local university, and Askhat is a tattoo artist. Neither of us are true Almaty locals, but we've called the city home for about 3 years now, and we like to think we've settled in pretty well.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading (mostly non-fiction), playing guitar and ukulele, improving my Russian, and tooling around in Procreate. Askhat is also pretty musical, and we're both major foodies.
