ABOUT ME

Hi everyone! My name's Kate, I'm 23 years old, currently, I live in the Hague, I came here a year ago for my studies. I study AI at Vrije University in Amsterdam. Originally I am from Latvia, but my native language is Russian, a bit complicated haha :D
After finishing school I decided to take a gap year (which turned into several years)). While I was in my last grade at school, I worked quite a lot and saved all my money. This gave me the opportunity to go traveling after finishing school. I went on half a year travel through Europe alone, partly hitchhiking, partly using public transport.
During my trip, I once saw an interesting working model of one shop, and when I returned back to Latvia I was eager to try opening it in my country since I knew that nobody was working like that and I still had some money left. It was a handmade made shop, where we worked with local creators, we were working until covid started, but then we had to close it since mainly it was oriented on tourists.
After that, I was kinda looking for myself, for what I'd like to do next, and at this time I went to IT courses and I loved them. In a while, I decided to get an education in that field and after a year of preparation, I got to uni and then moved to The Netherlands. For now, I'm living here for more than a year and I'm absolutely in love with this country :)
I'm working part-time as an administrator/manager in a pilates studio, as well as I do dog walking and pet sitting once in a while (I love animals haha)

Interests

Of course, traveling I literally can't live a month/2 months if I haven't traveled))
I love reading, playing chess, long walks, dancing, and partying
I've never been a sporty person, but a half year ago I finally went to boxing (which I postponed for 2 years I think)) and it's absolutely my passion now.
Also, I regularly volunteered at my local animal shelter in Latvia, but not for now, unfortunately

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love literature, especeally russian literature ( Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Pasternak, Bulgakov, Daniil Granin, Strugatsky brothers etc). Also Remak books, Jack London, Oscar Wilde and a lot of other authors

Movies: The Godfather, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, The Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Leon, Good Will Hunting, Matrix, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs etc.

Music: classical rock, rap, modern russian rock, sometimes classical music
