Overview
About Me
Hello, everyone! I'm Kateřina, currently residing, studying, and employed in Prague, Czech Republic. My work primarily involves full time in IT, along with various other projects such as festival creation, production management on film shoots, starting a non-profit and any project that piques my interest. Simultaneously, I'm pursuing a master's in film production while embracing the lifestyle of living at a train station.
I'm passionate about traveling and enjoy unique experiences every month. I'm not into typical tourist spots; instead, I'm curious about people and their stories. I love coming up with unconventional ideas like exploring abandoned places, off-the-grid treks, hitchhiking, trying new foods, volunteering, spontaneous train journeys, embracing art, or creating photography expeditions. I'm open-minded and adventurous and would be thrilled to share these experiences with like-minded folks like you.
Interests
I have normal hobby like most than half of population.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a diverse selection of shows and movies, appreciating the value of entertainment over cinematic perfection. For example, I cherish guilty pleasures like "Lord of the Rings," "Favorite," and "Outlander," but I also find delight in exploring so-called "bad" movies like "The Room" (2004). As for music, I primarily listen during special occasions like concerts with friends, considering it more of a social experience than a musical one. When it comes to books, I gravitate towards engaging stories, particularly within the realms of fantasy, sci-fi, and true stories. Some of my favorites include "The Inheritance Cycle," "The Witcher," "Tolkien," "Brave New World," "Remembrance of Earth's Past," and "Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup." If you have any recommendations, please feel free to share them with me!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hope there are multiple achievements I can be proud of, but one that stands out is overcoming my fear of spiders. I transformed from someone who had nightmares, couldn't even bear to look at pictures of spiders, and was terrified of sharing a room with them into someone who can now be in their presence. I've transitioned from a "me or them" mindset to one that recognizes their differences and appreciates their role. Now, I'm focusing on perfecting the process of safely letting them go outside.
Thanks to Prague Zoo I can say, that I have nightmares with people, not spiders.
Teach, Learn, Share
Mostly you would say the mother tongue, but my unique expertise lies in managing creative individuals, finding appreciation in art even though you do not understand it (or maybe just I), crafting the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, or mixing up delightful slushies/ frozen fruit martinis/daiquiris.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Prague is a beautiful city with plenty of hidden gems beyond the usual tourist attractions. There are also some peaceful and serene places, but they might require a bit of exploration to find. I can help to skip the hustle.
For the best experience, kindly share something unique about yourself, your interests in Prague, the reason for your visit, or your desire to stay with me. I'll certainly read your profile, so please include some personal details. Feel free to provide links to your or your companions' social media profiles as well as yours.
