About Me
ABOUT ME
Where to start? Well, at the moment I'm a Montrealer in exile in Chicago, Illinois, working on a PhD in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago, with an art history slant. My research splits into two main strands, the first looks mostly into the relationship between cinema, architecture, and landscape, while the second is more interested in strange histories of projection and light art. Where this leads me remains to be seen though!
On the personal level, my whole life pretty much revolves around books, movies, good food, and travel. I've travelled around Europe and Latin America, and look forward to exploring the USA while I'm hanging around for my studies. I also love to cook and garden, and also adore backpacking and hiking. Last summer I walked the camino in Spain, and I eagerly await testing my grit in some of the national parks of the United States!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I'm still new to couchsurfing, I've had only good experiences, both as a guest and meeting up with travellers hosted by friends in Montreal. Great conversations have always resulted, and it seems to me the best way to travel is to get to know the people living in a place. I'm also a pretty good cook, and I'd be happy to make dinner for anyone putting me up :).
Interests
I love literature, film, and architecture. Walking around excessively. Journal writing. Cooking and gardening. All that fun stuff.
