Life mission: Travel as much of the world as possible!

Current mission: Saving as much as possible for our 6 month trip around Europe - Russia - Asia at the end of 2016!

ABOUT ME

I am a 28 year old Engineer/Project Manager and my husband is a 30 year old handyman. We are from Brisbane, Australia and we love to travel when we can, and renovate houses the rest of the time! Back in 2013 I took a year off work to travel through Europe and South America which was one of the best years of my life! I now want to experience long term travel with my husband so we are planning a 6 month trip through Europe, Russia and Asia at the end of 2016!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe people should be open minded about as much as possible and should take any opportunities that come their way. That's how I got where I am now, I wanted to go travelling, and so I found a way to do it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I have only participated a very small amount on couch surfing. I had a fantastic first experience with a lovely girl in Helsinki, and I have done a few meet ups in countries where I met some great people.
We would love to try and do a lot of couch surfing on our trip as we think it is a fantastic way to meet people and really get to know the city we are staying in. Unfortunately we are constantly renovating so it is hard to host people, however we hope to one day settle down and be able to host people in Brissie.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Like I said, we haven't had any couchsurfing experience as of yet but we are hoping to change this. Looking for anything from meeting locals out for a drink to staying with a local to learn the ins and outs of local life.

Travelling and renovating are my main interests in life. I also adore my husband who will be travelling with me and love my little dog back home!

音乐、电影和书籍

I love all movies except scary ones! And I can never go past a good comedy. I would love to read more however it is hard to find the time. When I do read, I never take my nose out of the book until it is done. I love all music! From the old school songs to new top 40 pop to international (particularly Spanish) music to crazy new stuf like turbo folk to which I was recently introduced to! At home I listen to triple J which is an alternate/aussie radio station.

One of the most amazing thing I have done so far (other than travelling!) is probably skydiving and I think everyone needs to try it at least once.
Most amazing thing I have seen so far is the beautiful and enchanting aurora borialis (northern lights) at the top of Norway - incredible natural phenomenon!

I guess the things I have learnt from my travels so far are to be open to any situation, give things and people a chance, don't judge, take advice, and pack light!
I am more than willing to learn from anyone an everyone if you have any advice for me :)
