Hello, to all of my fellow wonderfully beautiful traveling souls! My name is Katey Lippitt and I am currently in Rwanda working for a sport and development nonprofit that promotes gender equity. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia (yes, I say y'all) but I have lived in Czech Republic, U.K., and I'm about to move to Siem Reap, Cambodia!

When I first started traveling as a broke college student, I became obsessed with the concept of couch surfing, budget traveling, and everything in between. Though I'm always itching for a new scenery/landscapes, my favorite aspect of travel is the people and culture that I encounter along the way (and the food of course..).

I am a very adventurous, independent, open-minded and laid back traveler. I am fairly flexible and tend to find the fun in every situation. As much as I love nature, my favorite part of traveling is the people I meet along the way❤️

The more I connect with people, the more I realize how interconnected the world truly is. No matter one’s background, origin, or gender, most everyone has struggled with similar trials and rejoiced through similar triumphs.

Regardless of the radical differences in our lifestyles, language, or religion, most people’s innate needs, wants, and desires draw parallel to our own. Most people simply want to have their voice heard. Once their thoughts are addressed with open-mindedness and a genuine interest, any in-depth conversation is possible.

This is what is so intimately beautiful about travel- a surface level conversation with a stranger evolving into an exchanging of knowledge then suddenly progressing into the core of the person. At the core, people become beautifully translucent exposing honest desires and passions which in return inspires and motivates me.

Climbed Germany's highest peak, swam with alligators in Jamaica's black River, cliff jumped in Dubrovnik and Ibiza, accidentally made Interpol's Most Wanted Passport list and almost got deported to Morocco, made my 22nd birthday wish and the Trevi Fountain and it came true the next day, went spelunking through Georgian caves, ate Bull's balls in Slovakia, played division one collegiate soccer for four years, stayed in a floating river house on River Kwai, rode the "deadliest railway" in Thailand
