ABOUT ME

We, Katha and Erik, are an open-minded swedish/german couple in our mid twenties. We both appreciate and are interested in other cultures and people, as well as politics.

In september we´re going to leave our every day life in Örebro to discover east coast Australia (travelling from Cairns to Sydney; september-november)and parts of South East Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam; november - march).
During our trip on the other side of the globe, we hope to meet interesting people of various origin, both for short acquaintances and longer friendships.

We are both vegetarians, and Erik enjoys cooking food with foreign inspiration daily.

Erik works as a programmer for a big world-wide company. In the future, he would like to work with something less contradicting to his political stand, and for a cause helping other people out.

Katha works as a nurse at Örebro university hospital at the emergency care unit, which is a quite crazy place to work at. She really likes her job but sometimes it is kind of backbreaking so it´s gonna be nice to be on vacation the next 6 months.

We made a donation to the community, and we would like to offer our couch in the future, to meet new or old friends from all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, but we hope that will change soon :)

兴趣

Erik is interested in music, cultures, computers (Linux, etc.) and hanging out with good friends.
Katha likes reading (books, magazines, blogs or what so ever), learning languages, going for walks, photography (no expert..), chocolate, owls, growing (flowers, spices etc).
Politics is also an interesting topic for both of us, as well as human rights, globalism, ecology and sociology/social psychology (OK, that might fall under politics, heh). Spirituality and theories of existence and the world is also something we like to ponder and discuss.

Erik might have a boring taste of films, but he would recomend American beauty, the Matrix, Shawshank remdemption and Battle Royale. When it comes to music, this is what he likes to massage his eardrums with: Bob Marley, In Flames, Groundation, Heaven Shall Burn, I-Roy, Big Youth, Heptones, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Soldiers of Jah Army etc. When it comes to books, he would name "I Trygghetsnarkomanernas land" by David Eberhard, Shogun by James Clavell, Dan Browns books (although, they tend to be quite a lot alike structural, they are still impossible to put down). In the past, he has read a lot of David Eddings' fantasy series.
Katha has not really special preferences when it comes to movies or books, she decides more spontaneously what she likes. Music: Anna Ternheim, Radiohead, Placebo, Café del Mar, Tiger Lou, Sigur Rós, Morrissey, Manu Chao, Coldplay; reggae, trance, "chill-out-music".

We both enjoy watching sci-fi series in the lines of Lost, Heroes, The 4400, Invasion (Why oh why didn't they make another season!?), X-files as well as historical cultural series like Roots and Shogun.
