About Me
--- not available in august, but you can find recommendations for Vienna at the end of my page :) ---
(2019) Ok, I guess this is the hardest part, but here we go: I'm Kathi and I was born in 2001 in Austria. In my free time I spend time with friends, spend time in nature, babysitt, do some voluntary work for fridaysforfuture or read a book. I also love to handcraft stuff.
According to my friends and family I'm a little (or a lot) chaotic and clumsy - but I'm always trying my best, to get things done they way I want to. I'd consider myself as open-minded and adventurous (though I'm scared pretty much everything), and always down for some crazy experiences.
My big topic is the environment. That's why I life as sustainable as possible and engage myself in environmental issues. You can get vegan food at my place.
Update 2022: Still me, a bit older now, wouldn't write it like that today, but also a bit too lazy to rewrite, so just get in touch if you feel like!
Still some more information: I started my studies in social work this september after working volutarily in a primary school last year, so social/sociaty issues are highly appreciated to talk about. Also got a bit into doing sports, especially bouldering and hiking. Practizing my hand stand skills - happy for tipps and tricks. Can be super active, I love to just do things, trying to not ask for the use of it/productivity. Escaping the city from time to time with my backpack filled with books, snacks, my diary and a camera (just the phone if I'm honest). When I'm at home, I'm always in for a cup of tea while listening to music. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
(2019) For me Couchsurfing is the perfect opportunity to travel to a place and really get to know it - and this for free! Like, if you visit a country without knowing locals it can be pretty hard, to have a good experience, but as soon as you know a person, that can show or tell you the insiders, everything is 10 times better! Another awesome thing is, that you can get friends all over the planet and you'll always have someone to think about in different countries.
Update 2022: Not for free anymore, but still appreciated. Would be happy to share some viennesse places and spaces. Nevertheless sometimes I'm a little too busy and tend to overload my day, so please don't be sad, if you can only spend time at my place, but not with me...!

Music, Movies, and Books
(2019) My favorite genres are jazz, hip hop, classical music and Indie but I'm open to almost any kind of music. I don't watch movies and series too often, because it takes up too much time for me... Therefore I don't really have a "favorite" one. In exchange I'm a book lover, especially when I was a kid, I read tons of stories (mostly fantasy). My favorite book is "Momo" by Michael Ende.
Update 2022: Actually I feel like I know nothing about genres, so don't take the listed too serious. Music taste changed a bit as well, find my spotify under k.athib
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
(2019) Travelling around in a car in the Netherlands for 10 days with my boyfriend. The car wasn't equipped and therefore there was little to no space for anything, expect the necessities. What I learned on this trip? "Life is like a roadtrip - enjoy each day and don't carry too much baggage."
Update 2022: Interrailing on my own this summer without a tent, sleeping bag or matresse, only my raincoat.
Teach, Learn, Share
(2019) I'm playing the recorder since 12 years (conservatory) and the piano since 9 years (music school) and I could try to teach you the basics on these instruments.
Update 2022: In for a jam-session, but don't expect too much. ^^ Also curious about shared thoughts. Plus I like teaching (and learning) languages.
What I Can Share with Hosts
(2019) Since I'm really bad at cooking, I will barely be able to cook you some traditional austrian food (especially since there's is very few vegan stuff). But we can have a talk, share stories, play cards and just spend time together!
Update 2022: Still no cooking skills existing, but my boyfriend could offer some edible stuff. Also sunsets from our windows are awesome.
