My family and friends describe me as an open-minded, energetic, enthusiastic and 'positive-energy-spreading' person. I love to meet new people with different cultural backgrounds and listen to and learn from their experiences and stories about life. However my enthusiasm and energy sometimes end up in social dilemmas, as I am trying to combine as many things/activities as possible, which obviously is not possible, but for me it makes sense :), and then I need to disappoint people, because I have to cancel planned activities. Ja, ja, that is also me :).

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

As I already said, I love to get in touch with people. I would like to listen to their stories and experiences, their personal drive, and what motivates them. Furthermore I think via couchsurfing you experience different countries and cultures on a 'deeper'/another level, because you see the location through the eyes of the host, and vice versa, I as a host, can show my guests my location from my perspective. And additionally I have experienced when hosting guests you are even able to get to know your own location better.

Intereses

I love to learn new languages. At the moment I am fascinated by the rich Russian culture and history. I am learning Russian, even though I am slow learner, I have to admit :). I also want to learn Portuguese, because I love the sound of that language :), and one of my friends moved to Brazil. This is why the next language-to-learn on my bucket list is Portuguese. I also love to sing all the time. I used to sing nearly every day in a choir and I had individual vocal lessons, but since I am studying (jaaa, that is a long time ago, I know :)), I am singing only on special occasions or under the shower :). Furthermore, I love sports. Ok, I admit I do not have the perfect beach body, but 'hey' I am a strong women :). I love rowing very much, but I also like cycling (I am living since 7 years in the Netherlands, then you better should like cycling, I can tell you :)), swimming and running, but I have to admit that I am a rather slow runner :).
