About Me
Hey, I’m Katharina!
Me and my boyfriend Robin love discovering new places so we try to use every chance we get to go somewhere new(and then after a while back to everything we enjoyed).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
During my first solo trip in the end of 2022 I was staying in hostels all the time, where i was able to meet to many great people who eventually turned out to be friends who already visited me in my home and who I visited a few already as well.
In my opinion, how you like a place completely depends on the people you spend your time with and i like to not just see the touristy things which Kind of are the same in every place you go to, but rather have a look behind everything and try to get to know a place, its people and different way of life in each location,
Interests
I’m playing soccer and saxophone, both in clubs nearby the place I live at.
Another thing is that i will be studying geography which is very connected to sustainability and because of that I decided to become a vegetarian a couple of years ago.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like many different genres of music but recently I’m usually listening to german hip hop and Reggaeton.
But I’m also into music from the 80s/90s or classical music, it really just depends on the mood i‘m in and suddenly i can be in the mood to listen to a very random but oddly specific kind of music. I always run out of music to listen to so i‘m always looking for new songs and artists to discover and fall in love with.
I‘d be thankful and am always down for some recommendations.
One of my favorites when it comes to books is “Steppenwolf” by Hesse but I also really like “The seven sisters” by Lucinda Riley. In the last couple of years i sadly didn‘t find that much time for reading, which i practically did all the time when i was younger, but when I‘m traveling i read a lot. Usually romans with historical background and i‘m also catching up on some „classics“ at the moment.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My exchange to Madison, Wisconsin during Highschool:)
Diving in San Andrés truly felt like an underwater fairy tale
Swimming with Bioluminescence in Panama was so beautiful
Snorkeling and discovering sea life in the paradise of San Blas and Belize
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really love cultural exchange through food and music, so i can cook some of my favorite (/german) meals.
