About Me

ABOUT ME

If you asked my friends, you would probably get different answers from each of them. I'm a person with many different sides and very flexible, which also reflects on my choice of friends- they don't always get along with each other.
What everybody would probably say, is, that I can be a very funny person- most of the time involuntary though, since I am kind of clumsy :) But I have no problem with being embarrassing, because I can laugh about myself.
They would also say, that I'm very open and communicative...but they probably don't always mean it in the best way XD They are sometimes a little bit weirded out by me talking to strangers in a very direct way, but I'm just not a shy girl- which doesn't mean that I don't have any manners! I spent an exchange year in China, when I was sixteen, and living with a host family does teach you to be polite and respectful.
I can also be kind of lazy when it comes to school-related things, but when I'm doing something I like, I'm very energetic. Maybe they'd also say, that I can be naive- like surfing on stranger's couches haha- but I like to be optimistic and don't expect only bad stuff.

Interests

I could get into anything really, because I love to try new things. I already took guitar lessons, piano lessons, painting lessons, dancing lessons, volleyball and gymnastic lessons. Most of which I forgot, though, after I stopped practicing. I like socializing, going out with friends, dancing etc. (I really like dancing, even if I'm not good at it :) ). I'm not a very sportive person, but I like ball games, especially volleyball.
A problem with me can be, that I don't want to miss out on ANYTHING most of the time, so I just try to stuff everything into my timetable, which doesn't work out most of the time. I like to be outside, when there's good weather, and I don't like to admit it to myself, but I'm in love with sightseeing, even if that makes me a boring tourist.
But when it's raining outside, I also like to just read a book, watch a good movie etc. Oh, and by the way, I don't know ANYTHING or care about music. I listen to songs I like without knowing the band, artist, publishing date, whatever. And I guess I don't have to mention, that traveling is like my biggest passion, which it totally is!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Like I already mentioned above, I was an exchange student in China when I was sixteen. And I believe that most of my important memories and memorable moments have their origin in that one year. That is sort of natural, I think, because I experienced so much! I walked on the Great Wall, I was on the Shanghai World Financial Center, I visited the ice festival in Harbin...
One moment that left me awestruck was for sure, when I arrived in Beijing with hundreds of other students from all over the world and realized that I was gonna be on my own for a whole year. I really thought like : Kat, what the HELL did you do?! Haha, but it turned out to be the best year of my life!
Then, another amazing moment was when I came back to visit my host family this winter (2011-2012) and realized, that we were still as close as before.
Everytime, I visit one of my friends from that exchange year, I'm so happy, because I'm amazed by how people can stay friends even if they don't see each other for years.
