About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to find out what this life thing is all about

ABOUT ME

Trying to challenge myself to be as respectful, open-minded, tolerant and helpful as possible every day - succeeding most of the time I hope (except for grumpy me too early in the morning haha). Having a positive outlook on life is important to me in general. I'm laid back and pretty direct, like to laugh a lot, philosophize about the world whilst drinking way too much red wine. Enjoy the good things in life a little to excessively sometimes (which is probably why fell in love with Berlin immediately, when I moved here 6 years ago).

In my opinion the world would be such a boring place without what society likes to call freaks & geeks, which is why I always like being with good-natured outcasts, crazy artists, idealistic globetrotters and dreamers of all kinds. Just never stop exploring new things - the world is what we make of it I guess.

I love going clubbing, Berghain has become my second home on sundays in recent years. As I've been working for an electronic music radio and web mag for some time now, one might consider that "research" haha. But I also enjoy lazy Netflix days, alcohol induced board game nights with friends, spontaneous trips into the nature with not a soul around to clear my head of hectic city life among many other things.

Starting from september, I will continue studying my master's in Digital Asset and Media Management at King's College in London. So Londoner's let's hang out!

PHILOSOPHY

And those who danced where thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Charles Bukowski and his drunk, self destructive, dirty characters, enjoy T.C. Boyle, generally like dystopian books like "Brave new world" by Aldous Huxley or "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy, Oscar Wilde is a star...could go on listing forever. (Btw: JK Rowling - You know I'm still waiting for that admission letter to Hogwarts, girl!)

I could cry even thinking about "The pianist" thanks to the amazing performance by Adrien Brody, most Woody Allen movies, all Quentin Tarantino's, Dallas Buyer's Club was great, crazy about GoT, watched all episodes of Breaking Bad at least three times...

All sorts of electronic music, among many other genres. I especially love techno (the darker, the better), house and disco tunes. Some of the best performances I've witnessed so far: Lawrence English's Wilderness of Mirrors performance at CTM festival, Oliver Deutschmann at Berghain, Lil Louis and Function killed it just last week at Panoramabar & Hain, Perc is always great and SOHN had such a beautiful voice at First We Take Berlin...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Standing on the table mountain in Cape Town, feeling free as a bird
- Bathing in a river with turtles in the most lovely hippy village San Marcos Sierras, Argentina
- Being blown away by the incredible beauty of the waterfalls in Puerto Iguazú
- Drinking way too much Fernet and mate tea with super fun & guest friendly argentinians in Buenos Aires
- Dancing, laughing and feeling pure joy at carnival in Rio
- Falling in love with Casa Batlló in Barcelona, wishing I could congratulate Antoni Gaudí on being a genius

Just being grateful that I had (and still have) the opportunity to travel. Seeing, feeling, tasting and hearing a bit more of the richness of the world we live in, getting to know different people and their cultures every year. Hopefully growing a little bit wiser by doing so ;)
