About Me
Hi all!
My name is KP. I'm 30yo, currently based in Darwin and I've been part of the couchsurfing community for about 8 years now. I'm social, considerate and good for a chat. I work somewhere in between community development and social work, often in social justice issues such as people seeking asylum, women's rights (overseas) and most recently with indigenous women in prison. I'm currently focusing more on creative therapies.
In my free time I like to dabble in arts, explore the great outdoors, and go out and be social. I enjoy dancing to 80's/ 90's tunes, committing to dress up parties, and feeding people/ hosting dinner parties.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done more hosting than surfing, not that I was able to do either while I was living in Cambodia. But now I'm back in Aus, I'm looking forward to getting back into it!
I started couchsurfing (unofficially) when I caught a bus from London to Paris in 2011. The lady I was sitting next to on the bus invited me to come stay with her and her boyfriend for a week in Paris. That was AMAZING: That a complete stranger could be so kind. I was so grateful. We are still really good friends.
I love the couchsurfing community. I like how it attracts similar, open minded people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moments that left me awestruck (Keeping in mind I wrote this in 2012):
1. Cliff diving off waterfalls in Kakadu National Park, NT, Australia. It was terrifying and beautiful at the same time.
2. Hiking around my temporary home in Lausanne, Switzerland. I loved those mountains or just sitting by Lake Geneva/ Lac Leman for hours taking in the view.
3. Granada, Spain. AMAZING. Beautiful part of the world, a lot of evidence of Christians, Muslims and Jews living together in harmony, and I met the most amazing, eccentric people.
4. Dancing in the street as part of a wedding in Delhi, India.
