About Me
Lovely couchsurfing people: I know that mine isn't the most detailed profile out there, but please don't send me copy+paste-requests, show some effort :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I tell people I'm doing couchsurfing, they usually assume that I'm either too cheap to pay for a hotel or have lost my mind. Or both. While it is true that I have to yet find a rich person who gets pleasure from financing my travels, even with 1000€ to spend a day, I'd still choose chouchsurfing over any luxury hotel.
When I'm staying in another country beyond a couple of days city trip, I'm not so much on vacation as I am travelling. And travelling includes learning, discovering a new place, new people and last but not least yourself. So what better way to do that by participating in an amazing community with people opening their homes. I don't want to get to know hotel beaches, but real people.
Interests
Aside from travelling, I have a serious tv series addiction and will watch the worst series there are. If I'm not doing that I switch between major studying/ working phases, drinking beer for no reason and trying to teach people card games. I really suck at describing myself (but have heard from several sources that I'm not the worst person to hang around with), but maybe in short: I've decided that my 20s are the perfect decade to be young, naive, idealistic to a point of being kinda stupid, so my goals in life remain to be: Being happy and making this world a better place. In one way or another.
Music, Movies, and Books
Writing lots of academic papers and thesis, my taste in music has taken a turn to the worst German music one can imagine. Other than that I listen to a lot of classical music, some alternative/indie from time to time, 80s rock aka smash hits and basically everything that sounds good. (never really got the hang of electro etc. though, maybe that has to do with my lack of doing drugs.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sitting in revolutionist's tents on Tahrir Square, Kairo, drinking tea and talking while being afraid that they might find out that I'm currently volunteering in Isreal.
Realizing how much love a handicapped child can give to you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm open to try to teach German to anyone who is interested and offer laughter and hopefully joy to everybody who is trying to teach me their mother tongue as I fail to pronounce their letters (over a year of efforts to say the arabic "a" and so far: no progress).
