About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Celebrating New Year's Eve in Seattle!
ABOUT ME
I am an uncomplicated and open-minded person who is very much interested in languages and cultures and appreciates to communicate with people all over the world. Wanting to see as much of this world as possible, I am stoked to explore couchsurfing even more.
When it comes to "free-time activities", I am a fond gardener and am very into cooking, especially with self-grown herbs and vegetables. Also I lately discovered that I am a fierce carpenter, for I built a wooden kayak all by myself in the course of two months while staying in Seattle. And yes, it floats! :D
When it comes to my studies, I am currently in my Master of Education program but I plan on studying an additional Master bearing the mysterious title "Studies in Abilities and the Development of Competences"... yes, this is a mouthful. :)
PHILOSOPHY
A stranger is a friend you haven't met yet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been a couchsurfer on many friends couches but my first real couchsurfing host was Amy from Seattle. Probably I wasn't the worst surfer, for she kept me as a pet for two whole months. It was the most awesome experience one could ever imagine!
Interests
I am very into writing which made me end up as an author of children's books eventually. Adventurous as I am, I am very happy whenever I have the opportunity to travel. But when staying at home, I am very fond of gardening since I bought a little allotment garden nearby where I grow fruits, vegetables and herbs. This year, I produced tons of strawberry-and-rhubarb-jam, yeah! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like books that are experimenting with language and thoughts. One of my favourites is "The Notebook" by Agota Kristof. Also I like the work of Thomas Mann and Patrick Süskind.
In terms of music, my favourites are Sigur Ros, Múm, Efterklang or artists such as Amanda Palmer, Vermillion Lies, Devotchka, Jason Webley, Peculiar Pretzelmen etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most defining experience was the influence of my grandmother. She was probably the wisest, most giving and tolerant person I have ever met.
It is her spirit that keeps me up whenever situations appear intractable.
Teach, Learn, Share
I suppose that one can learn from whatever social situation. Meeting new people and sharing thoughts or bits of each others lives inevitably boost synapses. :)
