About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Joy through breaking bread together and experiencing lenty

ABOUT ME

I am the director of a legal services nonprofit, which I run with my ex-husband. My husband and I co-lead our Jewish intentional community, Beit Shlomo, the house we share with another family (and we're remodeling to add two more families too!). Between us we parent five kids ages one year to 18.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay connected to the experiences that make your soul glow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love baking and cooking, taking care of my family, doing yoga, walking in my neighborhood (and other neighborhoods all over the world), looking for spiritual enlightenment (via Renewal Judaism), and working for economic justice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are new to couchsurfing, though we host people we meet all the time. My sister is an avid CSer (and my daughter too on a trip to Germany when she was 11) and has urged us to join formally. I believe I was signed up years ago (maybe 2000? definitely no fancy website!). We are excited about hosting and hopefully traveling in a year or two as well.

Interests

Yoga, reading, live music. Travel of course! With a big family we don't travel frequently, but I like to get to Europe every few years and we like to visit the Oregon coast and our family in Seattle when we can.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read the New Yorker religiously. I love local live music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The silence in Venice.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot of parenting experience and enjoy offering advice and thoughts from my perspective (while remaining nonjudgmental, of course).
