I am young woman living in Seattle, WA USA. Growing up my family moved across the United States several times so it is hard to say where my true "home" is. My father is from Pennsylvania and my Mother is from Zagreb, Croatia, so in 2012 our family moved to Zagreb Croatia. They currently live there and I try to visit at least once a year.

Due to my family moving to Croatia I have traveled quite a bit of Europe. I have visited cities such as London, Paris, Vienna, Budapest, and most cities in Croatia. Along with Europe, I studied abroad in Chengdu, China my fall semester of senior year of university. Living in China was one of the happiest times in my life and since I am forever changed.

The reason for my time in China is due to my university major which is Linguistics. Recently, this June 2017, i graduated university with a degree in Linguistics and an Asian Studies minor from Seattle Pacific University. I have studied Chinese and Spanish for 3 years and have a love of languages and communication.

Now that I have graduated I have decided to travel and work and enjoy my time as free, young adult! There is much in the world and myself that I wish to explore. I have been learning guitar, as well as spending more time with hobbies that I had set aside while in school. I have been trying to read more novels, write poetry, cook, exercise, as well as learn more about agriculture. When I was a teenager I used to volunteer on at a local organic fruit and vegetable farm. I developed a great love and respect for farming and the importance of wholesome food. Two years ago I became a vegetarian and have since made my eating habits and health my priority. I believe since we only have one body we should take the best care of it.

Lastly, I work as a barista in Seattle serving coffee and food. I love my job and have found that serving others is one of my greatest joys in life! Some of my customers have become my best friends and I think the ability to share about life and stories is amazing! I hope that whoever I stay with I can get to know and create another great friendship!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and make friends. I know that sounds cliche, but I love going somewhere and getting to know people. I think couchsurfing can help people travel without bring just another tourist in a city.
