About Me

Hi there!

I'm a Global and International studies student who's just starting out what I hope will be a life full of traveling! I have made so many connections in my first year here in Ottawa, with people from Australia, Dubai, England, Germany, and so many other places. I learn something new from them every day, and they aren't hesitant to help me plan my trips, and provide excellent travel advice!

Since meeting so many people after my move to Ottawa, I have learned something very valuable about myself: I have so much curiosity and excitement for this world. I want to see as much of it as I can, and will do whatever I can to make that happen. And in the process I hope to meet as many people as I can, because having friends from all around the world is amazing, and intriguing, and are connections that last a lifetime.

As a Global and International Studies student, these connections are valuable to me in so many ways. They help me understand the world and the people who live in it, and help make me a better, more well-traveled, well-rounded person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There's no better way to experience the culture then to stay with the locals! While I look forward to a lifetime of traveling, my goal is to experience the beauty of every city and every country I go to they way the people who live there do. Being a tourist is great, and it has it's perks, but personally I want to travel off the beaten path. What better way to find the real gems in a city - the good book stores, the local comedy shows - then to stay with people who call this place home.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dead Poets Society is one of my all time favourites: anything with that much emotion deserves an award in my books. And on the other hand, I have seen Argo (starring Ben Affleck) more times than I can count, and loved it!

No questions asked (because it's so emotional!), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is without a doubt my favourite book! But who knows, I'm always looking for new suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It may not have been the most extravagant trip, but it was my favourite so far! With little to no planning, an unforgiving budget, and nothing but some backpacks and some maps, my friends and I set out for a weekend in Montreal. With loads of walking, multiple turnarounds and the discovering of the coolest restaurants and music stores, I would not have had it any other way! This trip brought us very close, not only together but also with some Australians we met who were doing an exchange in Canada and the US.
