About Me

I'm a laid back, low maintenance gal who loves new experiences, interesting people, and following where ever the trail of beautiful moments leads.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Half the fun of travel is meeting the people who live there. The folks on Couchsurfing tend to be my kind of people-- friendly, altruistic, opened to experience, and super interesting. Besides, Couchsurfers (almost by definition) know how to travel properly, so who better to ask how to experience their home turfs?

Interests

Intellectual: Philosophy (Mind, Ontology, Mereology, Hume, Aristotle), neuroscience (perception), nutritional neurobiology, cognitive science, developmental psychology, religion, art history.

Activities: Sailing, swimming, yoga, darts, ...basketball?

Other: Doing art (painting, drawing, found art sculpture, installations, welding, fabric sculpture, modeling...). Reading. Talking. Listening. Puzzles and games (any and all!).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: ...Jeez. Does anyone ever really know how respond to this one?!! Off the top of my head--Praxis, Buckethead, Dillinger Escape Plan, Type O Negative. Blackalicious, DJ Shadow, RJD2, Emancipator, Little People. Blonde Redhead, Sufjan Stevens, Damian Rice. And then there's classical....

Movies: Three Amigos, Caddy Shack, Die Hard(s), Ocean's Eleven, Gone with the Wind (contentious, I know), etc... I tend towards comedy and action.

Books: All things Charlotte Bronte!! Eliot/Evans. Dickens. Some Jane Austen. All things Dostoevsky!! Tolstoy. Turgenev. (Big fan of Russian Nihilism in general.) Kafka.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Three months of primitive camping in the "desert" (New Mexico and Arizona). The theory of relativity became palpably true--time literally slowed down for optimal savoring.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation. Plenty of laughter. Respect for personal space. Perhaps some vegan cooking, if interested.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Malaysia, Mexico
