About Me
Hello hosts!
My boyfriend and I will be in New Zealand for a few weeks in September and after trying so many new things over the last year, why not add couch surfing to our list!
Our travel itinery so far is arrive in Queenstown and head straight to Milford Sound. After that, we are going to Fox Glacier and onto Frank Josef. A couple of days later, we are heading north to Nelson then to Christchurch then back to Queenstown for a week of skiing. En suite, (comme ils disent les francais), we are heading back to Christchurch to do a helpx on a dairy farm. Finally, we are hiring a van and going to Auckland whilst stopping along the way at points of interest!
In my opinion, we have a pretty awesome trip planned but if anyone has any inputs of what we must do/ must go then I would be delighted to hear any ideas!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So far from travelling, the best experiences have been those where the locals have given us an insight into their daily lives and shown us around their town through their eyes. It is such a privilege to see an area from a local and appreciate an area in the same way that they do.
My boyfriend did it whilst he was in London and he thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition, we have met so many people whilst travelling who have had such positive experiences from couchsurfing and hearing all of the different stories made me think, why not?
Growing up, my house has always been one that accepted guests and there was the rule 'always room for one more' for friends and family. I would like to think that once we have moved into a house, that we too could welcome guests from all over the world into our home and show them the fantastic things to do in our area....watch this space!
Interests
Skiing, the outdoors, being near the water, meeting new people and learning about different culture. Also, came to realise that one of my biggest interests is eating or just talking about food!

Music, Movies, and Books
'Wear sunscreen. If I could offer you one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it' - Baz Lurhmann. Couldn't recommend listening to this song anymore if you are searching for a bit of life advice.
The book that made the longest lasting impression on me is A Thousand Splendid Suns written by Khaled Hosseini as well as The Kite Runner. Although recently been reading The Husbands Secret which I thoroughly enjoyed.'
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching the sunrise at Angkor Watt was a great experience and one that I will remember.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn about other peoples experiences of where they have been in the world or even the great things to do in their country or state. In return, we would love to share our experiences as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We have travelled quite a lot now and have seen so many beautiful thugs and met so many fascinating, diverse people from a range of backgrounds. We really enjoy cooking and are generally really tidy people.
