ABOUT ME

I'm very sarcastic. I love to laugh. I'm a bit of a nerd. I'm the biggest procrastinator. I often find myself wasting far too much time reading useless information on the internet. I believe there is nothing you can't talk about at the dinner table. Infact, the topics of sex, politics, & religion often lead to some of the best conversations. Nothing makes me happier than dancing. I adore my family. I believe good friends make all the difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfing: My first couch surfing experience was in Sydney, Australia. A good friend of mine was doing a semester abroad and offered the couch of the house she was living in. I stayed there with her and her 4 roommates, a Scottish girl, a German boy, a Brittish guy and his French girlfriend. I stayed there for 3 weeks and it definitely was a good way to learn how to live out of a suitcase with just a couch & a corner as my personal space, and be respectful & mindful of the other people living in the house. I loved the conversations that were had at the end of the night when everyone ended up in the livingroom. I learned so much about their cultures and also my eyes were opened to the stereotypes that so many people have of Americans.

Hosting: Hosted a girl I had met at a hostel in São Paulo and a friend as they were passing through Florianópolis. Don't actually have a couch so we all had to sleep in my bed. Had tons of fun with these girls and they were even nice enough to make me a delicious dinner =). If only they had remembered the dishes...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. I have a severe phobia of sharks and get nervous in deep waters so this was a huge feat for me. Not to mention the Reef was absolutely beautiful.
