Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am happy to put people up on my sofa bed in the cabin in the garden and sometimes have a spare bed in the house. My youngest son of 18 still lives at home and my other two boys are studying away but return frequently. My daughter is 24 and has just returned from travelling.
I work four days a week, so will be out a lot of the time during the day. But I am home generally in the evenings and around at weekends. I spend a lot of time walking on our local beaches with our dog and am happy to show you around if I have nothing planned. Or you can just join in with what we are doing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was Couchsurfing long before it became a web site. Living for two years in Zimbabwe we regularly picked up hitch hikers and travellers, offering them a place to stay, leave belongings etc. We loved the constant flow of people through our house and have continued to have an 'open door' since coming back to the UK. Friends and friends of friends are always welcome. You never know who you might meet or what you might learn from them!
Interests
We are generally a laid back, outdoor family. We spend a lot of time on our local beaches or out in the Purbecks not far away. We have a big garden and love eating outdoors or spending the evening around the fire pit or sitting in the willow dome.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love most music - reggae, folk, acoustic singers ... and a big indie 80's fan!
Books - has to be a well written novel with a good storyline and strong characters - The Time Travellers Wife is a favourite.
Movies - most films apart from the very violent or action thrillers
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I watched a springbok give birth in the Kalahari.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to crochet and/or knit.
I am open to learning anything you can teach me.
And I am happy to share my home, the beautiful place I live and hopefully some laughter and good conversation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A simple vegan/vegetarian meal and good humour.
