About Me

Hello! I am an adventurer who has been traveling full time and living the “digital nomad” life the last 6 years. -*UPDATE* I´ve finally settled in Gran Canaria, Spain

Community is very important to me and so is meeting new and interesting people so I appreciate Couchsurfing :)

I am open in my plans and would like to learn Spanish, surf, meet new friends, and learn through my experiences.

PLEASE: not looking for tinder for backpackers! Please don't offer massages or dates! That is not the point of CS! I am sick of sorting thru creeps and potentially bad situations!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to learn about the world through people and travel and thrive in communities that encourage exploration.

I would also love to meet travel friends!

Interests

I am *still* learning to surf so you can usually find me near an ocean... I am typically exploring, getting lost, singing, dancing... going to the beat of my own drum. I seek culture, art, and a love of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most music but funk, electronica, and indie rock and sometimes hip-hop are usually what I'm grooving to.

The newest additions to my Spotify playlists have been The Black Pumas, La Femme, The Drums, ZHU, FKA twigs, SAULT

Always in rotation: Dope Lemon, Lucy Dacus, Goth Babe, Tame Impala, Leon Bridges, Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Daft Punk, Brand New, Pink Floyd.

--Always down for going to see live music of varying genres. Take me to your favorite venue or ask about mine in Chicago/Los Angeles/Cleveland

Movies- I Love a good cult classic.

Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Bridesmaids, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Wes Anderson, David Lynch, dark comedies, documentaries, horror movies, arthouse, indie flicks, and foreign films. You won't find me watching rom-coms or war movies.

Streaming on my laptop- Broad City, Chappelle Show, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, Jamie O'Brien's Youtube, Planet Earth, Random educational series on ocean life or nature ... NOT a fan of reality TV

Films that teach you something or are impactful. I typically research a movie entirely too much before deciding to watch it. Damn internet age...

Books- Love Ray Bradbury, David Sedaris, anything metaphysical, inspirational memoirs, Bukowski, Beat poets, travel stories, random short stories, zines, and i also spend way too much time exploring healthy eating blogs

Currently reading/carrying in my suitcase: the wind up bird chronicles by Murakami, Vagabonding by Rolf Potts, Evening in Paradise by Lucia Berlin, The Artist's Way (morning pages anyone?) Normal People by Sally Rooney and always some sort of self help book (personal growth is always the goal)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved to Chicago without ever visiting first or having a place to live! - Spoiler alert! I couchsurfed (albeit at my former coworkers... but it was still my first couch surf!)

Solo travel is an amazing thing I decided to do, as should everyone else if they have the liberation and opportunity (I can share my travel hacks!)

Spent most of the pandemic learning to surf after a brutal van accident where I easily could have died. #1. Drunk drivers suck #2. You're never too old to follow your dreams #3. Surfing is really hard

Manifesting positive energy and appreciating people for who they are is another amazing thing. I feel travel helps this mission.

Teach, Learn, Share

Practice/Teach--English/Spanish

Teach- travel hacks, Credit card promos (I have flown 4 international round trips through this!) random shit I always seem to know that people find interesting 🤣

Learn- the way you live your life and your philosophy

Share- I love to share snacks and wine 🍷 I am not a chef but sharing meals can be nice

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am building my portfolio of design, content creation, and social media strategy. Let me know if you need any projects done as I would love to help :)

Help with English translation of your website and copywriting if you have/need

I usually have drinks and snacks and I love to share

Cooking/cleaning/gardening/pet sitting
