ABOUT ME

Hey y'all, I'm Kathryn. Having recently quit my job and all that, I am taking my time exploring the world, discovering new places, meeting new people and learning what makes me tick. I’m a Southern girl at heart and a YTT 200 certified yoga instructor. Ever since I moved to New Zealand in January '14 from my small college town of Charlottesville, Virginia, I’ve had wanderlust coursing through my blood and am now continuing my journey through India and Southeast Asia. I love my sweet tea, spicy BBQ and good 'ole Bama football (Roll Tide!) I have three sisters, two nieces, and a new baby nephew. I also love chocolate and the great outdoors.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch surfed several times and have loved it! It's a great way to meet interesting people and I'm looking forward to meeting more!

I am a huge music fan and enjoy listening to all types, particularly live music. Jam, rock, blues, jazz, gypsy jazz, funk, bluegrass, oldies, soul, classical, country and more. My friend from Spain recently introduced me to psytrance, which I've just started to get into. If I haaad to name a few, I'd say Phish, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Umphrey's McGee, The Allman Brothers, Moe., Widespread Panic, Bakermat, Ott, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Trombone Shorty, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Robert Randolph, Ella Fitzgerald, Lake Street Dive, Neil Young, CCR, Simon&Garfunkel, John Denver, James Taylor, ALO, Norah Jones, honeyhoney, Love Canon, Greensky Bluegrass, Leftover Salmon, Punch Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, Trampled By Turtles, and all bands bluegrass.

I have an uncanny ability to fall asleep anywhere if I am tired enough. I can teach you how to waterski if the water's not cold! I would love to learn how to crochet or knit-I think it's a neat and handy skill to have. Also wouldn't mind learning some more about gardening. And of course, if you can teach me a thing or two in the kitchen, I'm always down to cook new things and try new foods, especially if it's gluten-free :)
