About Me
CURRENT MISSION
??? Something combining urban life, education, communities, kids, culture, and traveling... mix it all together and you wind up with my dream of a future non-profit organization!
ABOUT ME
I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and I moved to Indianapolis 6 years ago to work as a School Counselor at an urban school here. I love it!! I travel whenever I get a chance, and one of the reasons I signed up for this is because I have always benefited tremendously from the hospitality of different people from all over during my travels. I speak Portuguese and still some Spanish. My husband and I are in our 30's, and we enjoy cultural and artsy activities. We work until 4:30 p.m. on weekdays (totally off during the summer!), so we would be available outside of these hours to show you around!
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe Diem... is that too cliche? I really want to live life to its fullest, and relationships are of upmost importance to me- life is all about relationships. I love meeting new people and learning from anyone and everyone I talk with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We have hosted lots of people through "Hospitality Club" and "Global Freeloaders" for the past 6 years and have really enjoyed it.
We have 2 spare bedrooms in a house on the near East side of downtown Indianapolis. It's a comfortable walk to the city's center (you can see the skyline from my neighborhood), but there are also many convenient bus stops all around, if you're heading somewhere further away. We also host exchange students sometimes, so the bedrooms may be in use during your stay, but there is always the couch and aerobed. :) Feel free to use the kitchen while you are here, but you'll have to buy your own food. No drugs, and if you smoke- please do it outside. Enjoy exploring this Midwestern town!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've stayed with a Couch Surfer in Florida, and when I was traveling in Mexico in early '09. We've also hosted people from Global Freeloaders and Hospitality Club.
