About Me

Hiya! I'm winding down after the end of a long, busy year, and am keen to host some couchsurfers. I've travelled quite a bit myself - mostly to Australia and around the US - but I'm hoping to get around to the rest of the world soon! Next year I also plan on learning Samoan, and expanding my knowledge of New Zealand Sign Language.

I love hiking, riding my bike, and reading books about places that I've never been to. A lot of my future travel plans have been dictated by books I've read! I'm also quite keen and active in politics in Wellington, and I'm passionate about social justice.

I really like making food for people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm keen to relax and meet some cool new international friends.

Interests

I like photography, and singing loudly and badly while I cook and clean the house. This summer, I'm going to teach myself to make jam.

Some day, I want to hike the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail, and the Camino De Santiago.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Fat Freddy's Drop, Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Industries of the Blind, This Will Destroy You, Ani DiFranco, Bruce Springsteen, Band of Horses.

This year I read Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and it was fantastic. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe made me cry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't think I've ever done anything that could be labelled truly amazing, but when I was eighteen I rode Greyhound buses around North American for four months, which was cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty chill person - I'm happy to take you for a walk up one of Wellington's peaks in the evening, or go see a movie. I can also help out with tips for things to do in Wellington, and I'm an expert on the public transport here.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have much time during the day, but if you're free in the evening I'm keen to chill out and cook, go for a walk up to the Brooklyn Wind Turbine or go see a movie. I'm not terribly keen on drinking or clubbing myself, but you're welcome to have a couple while you're here :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Fiji, French Polynesia, United States
