Overview
About Me
I'm a 29 year old Psychologist living in Dublin. Now that I am nearly free of my studies I am eager to get travelling again! I've predominantly travelled around Europe and America, and am hoping to visit Asia and South America in the coming year. Any advice do share! I'd love to show people around Dublin, although I can't commit to hosting at the moment.
I love having a chat with people over a drink or a good meal and I've had some really lovely experiences couchsurfing and doing home exchanges. I'm very easy going and up for anything. I love going off the beaten track or exploring places from a local's perspective.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started coachsurfing as a student (I have been a student for a long time!) when I travelled America and found it was a great experience to meet new people and see the more traditional and cultural life of the country you are visiting. I then couch surfed again in Italy after working there as an English teacher and loved being immersed in a different culture. From food to expressions to mannerisms, just taking in what the wonderful people in this community can offer has been a joy.
More recently I have been doing home swaps, but I will be travelling solo again in the next few months so I am delighted to have a reason to be back traveling this way.
Interests
I really enjoy going to gigs and music festivals. I usually go to two camping music festivals in Ireland each year and then every few years I travel abroad to international music festivals like Primavera and Sziget. I have also been to Eurovision and yes it was incredible! I am gay (not too shocking given my love for Eurovision) so I'm hoping to attend Pride in different countries in the future.
I love a good beer and good meal. Put a beer in front of me and we'll be laughing in no time. There is never any fear of me going hungry as I tend not to let that happen! I am happy to cook for any of my hosts. I make a really good roast dinner, which is a staple Sunday meal in Ireland.
I am big into sports - I love Formula 1, rugby, I watch some international soccer, Gaelic Games (traditional Irish sports that I will happily introduce you to!) and I play and watch golf too.

Music, Movies, and Books
I go between reading fiction and psychology books. My recent reads - ‘Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow’, ‘Never Let Me Go’, ‘Before the coffee gets cold’ and ‘Juno loves Legs’.
I will rewatch films again and again and again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled across America (Huntington Beach, Long Beach, San Francisco, Berkeley, Yosemite, Salt Lake City, Chicago, New York, New Jersey and Long Island) as an undergrad with very little money and got lifts, couchsurfed mostly through word of mouth and just about made it home after I got the cheapest flight home to Dublin which seemed to have more stops than my actual trip!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Irish food and drink (more drink than food and saying that you must try a Guinness if you've never tried one before)
Diverse culture and language and history. We were once a colonised country, but there are beautiful pockets of Irish culture in Dublin if you know where to look.
I'll also show anyone I can how to play hurling or else bring you to a match if there's any local games on- believe me this is an experience you don't want to pass up!!
Lastly, I'll show you what Ireland's known best for the CRAIC!
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United States, Wales
