About Me
Hi!
I'm Katie and I am an American living abroad.
Unfortunately at this point in time I am unable to provide accommodations for anyone else due to my living situation and housemates; however, in the future I will enjoy hosting people in the USA.
I am a versatile and somewhat flexible person. I love going out with friends for coffee, tea, drinks, trivia, etc. I party hard once every 3 months, and even then it's not that hard--I don't wake up with a hangover, usually!
I have an adorable dog named Blueberry and I miss her very much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
2 reasons: budget and meeting people.
1) At this point in my life I have to travel on a budget, maybe that will change in the future and I'll have my own personal jet, but probably not. I'm sure this is a big part of why many people are on this website.
2) Meeting people at the hostel is a crap shoot. Sometimes you meet great people that you want to travel with to your next destination and/or be friends with for life, other times you were better off never locking eyes with them!
Locals can show you around and give more color or perspective to your surroundings and experience than a Rick Steve's book or iPhone App.
Couchsurfers have wonderfully huge hearts and are the kind of people I would like to be around, to meet, and to get to know!
Through CS we are able to meet somewhat like-minded people on the road who can help broaden our world-view, and I think that is a truly beautiful thing.
Interests
I like exercising (currently I am out of shape due to all the Tapas I eat here in Spain!): taking walks, bicycling, going to the gym, yoga, kickboxing, and rock climbing.
Educational/nerdy stuff: reading, learning, talking, writing, random studying of Physics here and there
I would say I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with Van Gogh. His art has changed my life and in some ways he has helped me.
I like to make people laugh, and to work hard
I enjoy playing the flute, meeting others, and stopping to smell the roses.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm still learning, but visualizations along the lines of meditation. It's so hard but after I have had a small success with it, I feel like I can move mountains!
