About Me
I am pretty quiet until you get to know me :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My best experiences with travelling have been those involving locals. While I enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories, I'm usually not bold enough to approach someone on the street. I don't want to remain in my own tourist bubble for my next trip! I'm also a student and have been one for many years, so I understand how costly it is to travel. I'd like to help people out - however unlikely it is that they would want to travel to this small town :)
Interests
I love all sorts of stuff and if I don't love it then I kind of want to know why others do so I can love it too :) I can see the appeal of almost anything. I like reading, learning, photography, psychology, culture, travel, and talking about the 'good stuff' - the meaningful and complex things rather than the superficial small talk things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read mostly classics and fantasy/science fiction, but I've also been known to branch out into the super trendy young adult dystopians and the not so trendy random unknown fictions. I think I would read almost anything - except maybe historical fiction. Some of my favourites: Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, The KingKiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, Dune by Frank Herbert.
I watch all sorts of movies and tv shows and kdramas and BBC miniseries - just everything. Some favourites would be The Rocket (2013; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2178256/), Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005), 12 Angry Men (1957), Gran Torino (2008), and Game of Thrones (I'm saving the fourth season so no spoilers!).
I love music and have really eclectic tastes. Right now I listen more to Indie/Folk/NuModern, e.g. Like the Dawn (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hd9vh89To4M), Atlas Hands (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyue2N1XZ0M), and I really like this for some reason (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Fk2BaM1la0). I wake up with songs in my head, e.g. Pale Sun Rose by Matthew and the Atlas. That is a simplification, however, as it is actually quite a process to figure out. It usually involves skipping through songs, bugging my brother, and a lot of humming.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been to places where I was the only one like me, and had people marvel at me, literally stopping traffic in the street.
Lived in a van parked on the beach for a few days, falling asleep to the sounds and breeze of the ocean and waking up to the crow of roosters.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to play a card game, solve a Rubik's cube, swim, use chopsticks, or, for the more nerdy, I have some pretty good statistics skills. I have lots of random psychology information to share, too.
I want to learn anything and everything - phrases from different languages, random skills, your life story, local points of interest, difference cuisines - just everything.
We can share some experiences! Let's float a candle down the Danube, throw paper airplanes from the Eiffel Tower, hunt for mushrooms, taste test a whole menu, take a scooter road trip, or share some of our stories.
