Music, Movies, and Books

Music: love all kinds of music, especially folk, indie, alternative rock, catchy pop, bluegrass, classical, and starting to get into blues.
Movies: The Pianist is an all-time favorite. Love Harry Potter, Hot Fuzz, classics like Farris Buehler, etc. Love movies that are visually moving with stunning landscapes and backgrounds, documentaries, and when the mood strikes: I enjoy watching the big budget action movies, dumb comedies, and stupid films.
Books: my favorites typically fall under non-fiction, especially history books but I love reading and have a wide range of interests. Some favorites: Hemingway's Women, The Last Place on Earth, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Harry Potter, Good Omens, Periodic Tales, The Ghost Map, The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, Heart of Darkness, Siddhartha, Night, Gulliver's Travels, Devil in the White City... Most of these are what I've read recently, and highly recommend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Researching, planning, and booking a trip to Cuba in a matter of weeks when it was still difficult, and illegal to travel to Cuba from the United States on your own, all for $2400 for the two of us for 8 days. It was the most amazing trip I've had.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A passion for learning about a new city, country, or culture... A love of meeting new people, sharing stories over a bottle of craft beer or wine, and sharing travel tips and knowledge.
