I'm Katie and I'm 35. I'm easygoing, friendly, talkative and caring. I like and appreciate a tidy home so that is what you should find. I have a Yorkie named Nat who is my world. Don't let her fool you, she's 12 years old. I work hard and travel often.

Please note-I have family staying the month of February and therefore will not be hosting in February and early March.

The 10 commandments of my home
1. Absolutely no smoking and no drugs. That includes marijuana. My landlord is a police officer and I will not risk my home for you.
2. No cooking without permission.
3. Be respectful. I am opening my home to you so please have respect. Clean up after yourself, be quiet when you arrive as to not disturb the neighbors and be aware of your electricity consumption by turning off lights when you leave a room. I also ask that you keep your stays to a few days. It's free to you but please don't take advantage. There are costs involved for me. Refer to the rules above and below.
4. California is in a major drought. Please be water efficient when washing dishes or taking a shower. Unless you've hiked all day or been in the ocean, please limit yourself to one shower a day.
5. If you have a question, ask. I will try to cover most common stuff but if I forget something let me know. From where the cups are to how to use the Keurig to where to go and how the shower works, I'm happy to help.
6. Remember...This is Couchsurfing, not Tinder. You are not Aladdin and I am not Princess Jasmine. I'm sure you "can show me the world" but I'm not interested. 😂
7. My house is very busy therefore I don't accept most last minute requests, no more than 2 people and no you may not have guests in my home. Life happens so please let me know if it does. I get multiple requests a day so if you cancel last minute you have likely taken a spot that someone else may have wanted it.
8. Please be aware of time. We are adults so no curfew but please don't think I'm getting up at 2am to let you in. That also means letting me know in advance when you will be arriving. Be courteous. I have a job, responsibilities and other things to do.
9. DO NOT feed the dog anything or let her out. She's old and has health issues which require a very strict diet and we have raccoons, mountain lions and hawks who can kill her so please watch the door when you leave and don't leave it open at any time.
10. Please no wearing shoes in the house. It's very light carpet and it shows everything.

These rules are important to know and understand. I want it to be a pleasant experience for both parties so kick your shoes off, have a seat and let's have a glass of wine or cup of tea. I love meeting new people!

Please do not ask the following:
1. No you may not camp at my house or park your car in my driveway to sleep.
2. No you may not have more than two people.
3. No you may not stay for a few weeks.
4. No you may not cancel tonight and come in a few days.

Keys to a happy host:
1. Please give me some idea of your arrival time.
I often work nights and weekends so I need to be able to plan your arrival.
2. If you can please throw your towels and sheets in the washer when you leave. It's very appreciated.
3. Please message me a day or two prior to your arrival. I will then provide you the address and directions. This helps to give me a little reminder that you are coming.
4. Please leave feedback. It helps both our ratings as well as giving me feedback about what I may need to do differently.
