About Me

I'm a 22 year old Irish girl. Having lived in Kenya, San Francisco, the Netherlands, and China, travelling is a way of life for me. This year, I've returned to Dublin to complete my undergraduate in Psychology. Interested in activities, running, yoga, cooking, and the irregular rave. Willing to try anything once!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couch surfing allows you to meet locals, and explore areas with inside knowledge. Throughout my travels, locals give the best advice, and insight into the community. I'm interested in meeting new people; sharing ideas; swapping life-experiences; and exploring similarities and contrasts in how we all perceive the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Current favourite book is Alain De Botton's 'On Love;' a reflection on contemporary modern romantic relationships.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 16, I cycled across Belgium, Holland, and France with two friends, and two panniers filled with food, clothes, and utensils.

Living within a collectivist group in Berkeley. A student run house with over a hundred members who cook, clean, and party together. The house was covered in art and murals and had a vibe I can't explain - though I will try if I meet you!

Recently, I travelled and volunteered alone in rural China. Assimilating into a completely foreign culture with little capacity to communicate verbally (I have very poor Chinese) was incredible.

Teach, Learn, Share

Having lived abroad several times I have a keen interest in cultural differences and commonalities. My happy to share my experience of growing up in Kenya, assimilating into a collectivist group in Berkeley, adapting to the firmly individualistic Dutch lifestyle, and then exploring rural China alone. I'm also happy to listen to stories of your travels, and your life experience!

If you feel like learning a bit of Irish I'm also eager to help. It may not be the most functional language, but it has a lot of history... and sounds cool!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to share all the best spots (in my opinion) in Dublin to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I've a particular in quirky places that you might not find in your tourist guide.
Also can advise you on the best places to drink and dance.
If you feel like doing some hiking or just walking in the Irish wilderness I'm down to join, or just give you directions.
