About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to provide a safe, fun, welcoming space for people to share while exploring my city!

ABOUT ME

It's kind of funny, Montreal is known for it's night life, great nights out. Well, I've come to love a good night in. I love spending an evening surrounded by good food, good music, and good people. I love pot lucks, jam nights, and meeting new people with new skills to share. I quite enjoy photography, taking a walk around, explore the city through the lens of my camera, be it some fancy SLR or simple disposable. The view of Montreal at night has something peaceful and brilliant about it. On a nice, clear night, I'll go for a walk to one of our well-known lookouts just to take it all in.
Basically, I love my city. I love the eclectic-ness of everything it has to offer. Something for everyone.
In the summer, I work at a camp as a canoe tripping guide and during the year I work at the YMCA. I love the great outdoors, going on adventures, be it in the bush or the heart of the concrete jungle that I call home.
I'm very open to different lifestyles and life choices, I, myself, may have not quite followed the beaten trail. I love art, music, food of all kinds and people of all kinds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted some very lovely people, but I have yet to surf. I'll get on that soon enough hopefully!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm fairly new to CS, but from the experience I've had by sharing my couch with a few travelers, it's only given me to ache to keep going, hoping for more new and exciting people and experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books

I loooove a good non-fiction. Or even a fiction that makes me feel like it's non-fiction. I like a convincing story. This goes for books or movies. But as for movies, I do like a little bit of everything. I've got my soft spot for my childhood Disney movies, the goosebumps for a suspenseful thriller, and the itch for the strange and deranged. As for music, I'm very much an oldies lover. Oldies of any kind pretty much. I'll listen to almost any kind of music really, it all has it's own mood to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I haven't traveled much, YET, but something I did very much enjoy was my time spent in Tanzania. I loved being able to wake up to the site of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro and being able to go work in the Kilimanjaro National Park.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach a lot where I work and so when I'm with friends or new people, I don't like teaching in the conventional way. I'm a big supporter of experiential learning, learn by doing. I like teaching myself about my city by going for a walk in an unfamiliar neighborhood, discussing past experiences with others and learning about myself and others along the way. That's something I love most, to learn about myself. You know that saying, you never know until you try? Of course I've had my challenges through that, being nervous or hesitant. Through trying things or out-right not having a choice but to be in a certain situation, I'd never have gotten to know the person I am today.
