I grew up in Oklahoma and lived there my whole life until I moved to Korea at the age of 29. I now teach English to university students, and I really love my job. I really enjoy traveling and meeting new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have friends who have used Couchsurfing while they were traveling, and everyone highly recommends it. They said it's a great way to meet new people while traveling and get a better sense of what a country is like. I currently live in a small studio apartment, and so I'm unable to accept guests. If my living situation changes, I'll change the guest status on here :)

Interests

I like all different kinds of books, movies, and music. I love trivia and have recently become addicted to Trivia Crack and Quiz Up- I'm a wealth of useless information. I'm also interested in photography, and I'm hoping to eventually take a class to become better at it. Currently trying to make Zumba a big area of interest and hoping my physical fitness will follow...

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a pretty eclectic taste in all of the above, but I'd have to say that my favorite books and movies are the really good stories about friendship and/or love. I also like a book or movie that can make me laugh. It's difficult to pinpoint a favorite. Music- I like a lot of doo-wop and soul from the 50's and 60's, 70's and 80's rock, 80's pop and rock, and country music from just about every decade. I also like listening to classical music to relax.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Packing up my life in Oklahoma and moving to Korea was pretty amazing for me. I'd dreamed of living abroad and traveling since I was in junior high, but I never thought it was something I'd actually do. It was a pretty big step for me!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- hmmm I'll have to think on this one a little bit. I'm sure I have teachable skills, but none are coming to mind at the moment...
Learn- I would love to learn more about photography. I'm definitely an amateur in the truest sense of the word, but I love trying to capture good nature shots when I'm out and about.
Share- I can share my stories of what it's like living as an expat in Korea- everything from the wonderful to the bizarre.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring a traditional gift from Korea! :D I'm not much of a cook, but I would love to treat my host(s) to a dinner if they can show me a good place to get some local food. I would also be happy to help with some household cleaning duties to earn my keep.
