born and raised in michigan. undergrad at the university of michigan, lived in co-ops for several with years with a bunch of colorful characters and learned how to properly clean a cast iron pan. after college, i taught in slovakia for a year, then did a writing internship in iceland for the summer. headed to brooklyn after that and spent the year working at the nyc dep. of education, then moved to japan to teach english yet again. went back to new york to--you guessed it--teach english, and now i am here in little valencia teaching english and trying not to get a sunburn.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

so far i've surfed and met up with other couchsurfers in bratislava, budapest, berlin, lisbon, reykjavík, and osaka. i've met some really cool people, some of whom i still visit and talk to semi-regularly, so i'm really grateful for that. i do a lot of solo traveling, so CS is my way of meeting locals or other travelers who are as lost and alone in the world as i am ([mostly] kidding).
