ABOUT ME

My name is Katie, and I'm from Portland, Oregon. I currently live in Lugano, Switzerland, where I go to school at a Swiss-American university. I've loved to travel my whole life, and have never failed to reach (at least one) new country every year since I was eleven years old. Living in Europe has helped me to continue that journey.
I am very blessed, though agnostic; I am very easy-going, though ambitious. I love cats, I don't smoke or drink in excess. I have a weird aversion to cheese and many other dairy products. And I hate describing myself. So, hey -- ask me anything else you'd like to know.

Interests

I absolutely adore everything about language, whether native or foreign to me. I'm one of those people who could talk for hours about the minute technicalities of grammar, spelling, or pronunciation, and never get bored. I speak English and Spanish alone, currently, with a decent level of Italian, now that I am living in Lugano, Switzerland. But my ambition is to learn many more in the next few years, not to mention my lifespan. My other interests include history, literature, environmental science, editing and journalism, traveling, yoga, teaching, camping, hiking, rafting, kayaking, reading in book and coffee shops, swaying to live music, and dancing to any music at all. And all the other worldly things that make up a whole and dynamic person, I am sure.
