ABOUT ME
I'm passionate about travel and the environment. I like meeting new people, enjoying good food, good wine, and interesting conversation. I'm a rather practical person and when I'm not traveling I spend my time engineering solutions to environmental issues.
I enjoy the outdoors. You're welcome to join me for a hike or to throw a frisbee around.
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting, I enjoy all the great people I get to meet and to learn about their travels, philosophy and culture.
Surfing, I appreciate people sharing their home and experiences. And locally, I've had the opportunity to meet other wonderful members of this community.
The best thing about being an active memeber of the community is the amazing friends that I've made. I'm still in touch with some couchsurfers from my early CS days and I'm confident that these people will be lifelong friends.
In your couch request please:
1) Explain what you like about Couchsurfing.
2) Tell me why you want to stay with me.
3) Tell me what your favourite kind of fruit is.
You must have a completed profile with at least 5 references and 5 photos.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'd heard great things about couch surfing from my more adventurous friends and decided to give it a try. In the years since then I've met so many amazing and interesting people through this community.

Music
I love music. I tend to lean to Canadian Indie and folky acoustic stuff in my day to day listening. I like finding music I haven't heard before. I like symphony and opera. And, most of all I like finding live, local music. It's a great way to discover new artists and experience the culture. Some highlights include small venues in Brooklyn, NY, dancing to South American pop music in Ecuador, and listening to an phenomenal Angolan artist on an African tour at club Tribe in Nairobi.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo hiking the Grand Canyon from the south rim to the Colorado River.
Sunrise in the Sahara.
Swimming with sea turtles in the Galapagos.
Nighttime swimming in bioluminescent Bay of Pigs.
Teach, Learn, Share
Interested in renewable energy? I'm an expert in the field, and will be happy to share my knowledge and enthusiasm. I'm also a yoga teacher!
